Galatians 6:9

Don't Give Up

Some seasons feel like pouring water onto dry ground. You keep praying, keep showing up, keep doing the right thing, and nothing seems to grow. It is in those seasons that giving up starts to sound reasonable.

Paul wrote to people who knew that feeling:

“Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.”

Galatians 6:9

The harvest has a season

Notice what Paul does not say. He doesn’t say the harvest comes right away, or that you’ll see every result. He says it comes in due season. God’s timing isn’t late; it is simply not ours.

A farmer doesn’t dig up the seed every morning to check whether it’s working. He waters, he waits, and he trusts that what is happening underground is real even when he can’t see it.

Strength for the waiting

If you’re tired, you are in good company. Isaiah wrote that even young people grow weary and stumble. But he also wrote this:

“But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

Waiting on the Lord is not doing nothing. It is leaning your full weight on Him. You come to Him empty and let Him fill you again, one day at a time.

“Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day.”

2 Corinthians 4:16

Keep going

So keep praying for that person. Keep serving where God has put you. Keep turning up for the small, faithful things nobody notices. Heaven notices.

A prayer for today: Lord, I’m tired. Renew my strength. Help me trust that You are working even when I can’t see it. Give me grace to keep doing good, and to wait for Your harvest. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you need someone to pray with you, send us a prayer request. You don’t have to carry this alone.
